I think the combat system of this game should be similar to this game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Vvo-VisDoM&feature=related

Skip to 5:10 for the fighting.

In this you cant lock on, and you have to actively dodge and block. Left click to attack(taijutsu in this game) and right click to block. Shift to dodge and you use hotkeys (like in NNK) for jutsus or type in the numbers.

EDIT: And you cant spam the dodge or block because the stamina bar goes down(the yellow bar in the top left). Health is the red bar, and the chakra is the Blue bar. Substitutions should count as the stamina bar.

Dodge with shift? I hope you realize that dodging means actively moving to avoid a jutsu. A roll, depending on which movement key you have pressed, would be good.

I agree with sprinkler.In gw 2,
if you for example double press "w" you should make a roll to the front
"s" back roll
"d" roll to right
"a" roll to the left site.

more example you have an endurance bar with every roll you make you lose some energy and while moving normal it recharge itself.


I love this and this makes the game dynamic.

In this game can do the 2 ways... if not just change the keys... About the topic this game need be like this... Tab combat style dont combine with this...

I think shift should be the substitution jutsu not the dodge. I think he only way to dodge is to use your arrow keys and be actively aware of your sorroundings. Otherwise I think everything's fine.

With the substitution jutsu, it should have a limit. If anyone played Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2, you'd understand where im comming from, spamming trigger to substitute gets old quick... Also i think you should have Materials for Substitution Jutsu.

I.E a Log with a "Substitution Seal" on it, you have to write the seal yourself, gathering mats n stuff... Could also be some kind of "Profession" Seal writing... So you can Use Ninja weapon scrolls, Binding Scrolls, Teleport scrolls ETC... just think it would give people something else to do other then constant combat.

Like WoWs seconday proffessions (cooking,fishing etc)
